For Fall 2011, H&M key looks are long, loose silhouettes, with classic coats in camel teamed with patterned dresses and wide pants, mixing retro styles with a modern twist. The color palette is warm like camel, cognac, burgundy, pumpkin and brown, as well as uniform-inspired colors, muted jewel tones and cream. If you like patterns, there’s tweeds, florals, paisley and checks. Key pieces are classic coats, including a parka, faux fur, blazer, tailored pants, knee-length skirt, blouse, poncho and chunky knits.

Famed British sports car marque Lotus has a super-stylish history, with the likes of James Bond and Steve McQueen among its best known enthusiasts. Now the storied firm, founded in 1952 by Colin Chapman, is looking to reclaims some of that former glory with a new lifestyle brand set to launch in February. Dubbed Lotus Originals, the diverse offerings will include everything from leather jackets and blue blazers to bags and backgammon sets. The company’s motor racing and sports car heritage were used as inspiration for the collection, with tire tread patterns, vintage Lotus logos, racing stripes, car silhouettes and numbers relating to the dates of famous Lotus racing victories of the 1960s and 70s appearing on certain items.

One of Nike’s most iconic basketball silhouettes, the Blazer has just hit the scene in a pair of vintage makeups. Originally release in 1973, these Blazers look as if they could be an original run. These two makeups are clad in yellow and blue suede respectively and sport a vintage acid stained sole. Both shoes feature an over-sized white contrast swoosh and a retrofitted vintage tongue.

It’s no great accident that the popularity of Mad Men has coincided with a resurgence in early ’60s fashion. A sartorial inspiration to men and women alike, we’ve seen an avalanche of elements from the era spill over into fashion’s impressionable mind; and the bulk of the torrent is yet to come.
