The late Princess Diana was a fashion icon. All over the world, people followed her every fashion move. It all started in 1981, at her first appearance post-engagement to Prince Charles. Diana wore a black, strapless taffeta David Emanuel gown that raised eyebrows and, from then on, granted her the nickname “Daring Di.” The dress was sold at auction on June 8, 2010 for a grand total of £192,000 (that’s $279,000!). It was only expected to bring £50,000.

The gown sold to Jorge Yarur, founder of Santiago, Chile’s Museo de la Mode. Yarur has promised to eventually donate the dress—and other of the late Diana’s gowns already in his collection—to Kensington Palace in London, where the princess once lived. Other Princess Diana items sold at the auction include a replica of her famed wedding dress and the pink chiffon blouse she wore on the cover of Vogue.

A 24-year-old Arab-American has beaten 50 other women to take the 2010 Miss USA title.

Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Michigan, won the pageant on Sunday at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions.

Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train, but she made it without a spill and went on to win.

Fakih replaces Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton and won a spot representing the United States in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant. She also gets a one-year lease in a New York apartment with living expenses, an undisclosed salary, and various health, professional and beauty services.

Lady Gaga is famed for wearing outrageous headwear, but now  the star has asked her favourite milliner Philip Treacy if she can design some with him.

The New Yorker, 24, who was pictured with Treacy, 42, at the Brit Awards in February, is even willing to move to London to create her own range of hats.

This is Carrie Bradshaw on the set of SATC 2, which opens later this month. The cut- off tights, the underwear as outerwear, the bits of old tights in her hair, the white shoes and bubble perm.

Women wishes fashion were still fun, and that young women still dressed like extras from Fame rather than like prostitutes, or footballers’ wives.

Following the success of her jewelry line last year, television personality Nicole Richie decided to make the full push with her House of Harlow 1961, adding clothing, footwear, and sunglasses to the brand’s collection. Now one of the label’s producers says Richie is going to stamp her name on a few handbags next spring.

Selena Gomez is following in the footsteps of both Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, launching a budget-friendly clothing for retail giant Kmart. Selena’s “Dream Out Loud” collection features tops, pants, dresses, and all manner of accessories – all for less than $25 each.

Gomez, who wears a lot of high-end designer wear on the red carpet, said of her upcoming endeavor, “I am proud to be able to join forces with Kmart to release my own fashion collection! This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and I feel privileged to be able to give the consumer great product at a great value.”

Gomez has set her collection apart from other celebrity-endorsed products by ensuring that her products are both organic and eco-friendly. She added, “With my line, I really want to give the customer options on how they can put their own looks together. I want the pieces that can be easy to dress up or down, and the fabrics being eco-friendly and organic are super important.”

According to rumours Lara Stone will soon become the new face of Calvin Klein brand. And what is more she is going to front not only the main collection but also Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Cosmetics.

Although Lara has modeled for fashion giants before taking part in three campaigns will be a huge success.

It was really only a matter of time before fashionable Lady Gagaaccessories hit store shelves. The ultra-hip singer is reportedly working on a line of sunglasses with designer Linda Farrow, the eyewear label behind the Alexander Wang shades Gaga has been pictured in more than once.

In the past couple of months we’ve grown accustomed to hearing about Tiger Woods linked with new ladies, but this is one we didn’t see coming! Apparently the golf pro “went out a few times” with country cutie LeAnn Rimes, before she tied the knot with her now ex-husband Dean Sheremet in 2002.

A source tells Usmagazine.com, “They hooked up and everything. Tiger was really into her. He likes those blondes!”

Maybe Woods was enthusiastic, but Rimes’ parents were not. Her dad thought his daughter, who was just a teenager at that point, was much too young to be dating a man seven years her senior.

The source added, “Her dad almost had a heart attack, and he made her stop seeing Tiger.”

Tiger’s extramarital affairs have been well-chronicled by now, but Rimes has had her own marriage drama to deal with. She and Sheremet divorced last year after it was revealed she’d started an off-screen romance with her co-star Eddie Cibrian, whom she’s still dating.

Her pictorial in the April 2010 edition of Vogue Paris may place her in the hard conditions of the dessert (a running theme through so many current pictorials), but supermodel Natasha Poly remains fashion royalty.
