Following her shocking appearance at the MTV Music Awards, Lady Gaga gave a hair-raising performance at New York City’s intimate Oak Room in a dress made entirely of human hair.
Held together by glue and string, the dress was constructed of long brown and strawberry blonde locks. No reports on who the lucky donor was, but the look was accessorized in full Gaga style with fishnet stockings, Alexander McQueen Armadillo heels and lots of bling around her neck.
This is the same woman who turned her last ensemble into beef jerky. And while that dress was a Gaga original as far as we can tell, there are rumors that a similarly hairy poncho was first spotted on “America’s Next Top Model.”
Lady Gaga is rumored to purchase an estate in the UK countryside. A friend told the newspaper: “No expense will be spared in her quest to make this dream come true. It’s her childhood dream and she’s particularly interested in castles in the north of England or Scotland.”
It was reported this week the singer was looking to purchase a property on the exclusive island of Martha’s Vineyard, off the coast of Massachusetts, US, ready for when her Monster Ball Tour wraps up in 2011.
However, the New Yorker could bag herself a bargain if she were to buy in Scotland, where real estate agent Matthew Sinclair has revealed many properties are overpriced.
He said: “The average time a property is on the market is eight months. That tells us much of the property is overpriced.
“The country house market seems completely static. Some prices being asked are what they would have sold for at the peak of the market.”
Expect to see Lady Gaga in a lot more Armani from here on out. She has entered into a multimillion dollar partnership with the Italian designer who provided her Grammy outfits and “Alejandro” music video costumes.
Normally, celebrities who wish to be clad in Armani choose from the designer’s runway collections. The designer’s sleek style isn’t exactly up Gaga’s alley, however. His niece, Roberta, says:
It wouldn’t be possible to give Gaga a look from the collection because she wears pieces of art. It’s theatrical.
The collaboration began last year when Giorgio’s niece Roberta got in touch with Gaga’s stylist Nicola Formichetti to ask about the singer’s interest in wearing Armani for the Grammy Awards. Giorgio created three outfits for Gaga to wear, and instead of picking just one, she wore all three! The rest is history.
Armani will be designing the costumes for Lady Gaga’s next tour in December. Keep an eye out for more fantastical creations then!

On Friday morning, pop juggernaut Lady Gaga performed a brief but rousing gig on the Today Show, braving the rain at NYC’s Rockefeller center in not one, but two custom-made Giorgio Armani performance ensembles.

Gaga took to the stage in an elaborate white getup that could’ve easily been a vintage Madonna look: a crystal-studded white suit work with a sparkling cross-embellished bra. Gaga accessorized with a relatively demure feathery headdress.
