LAD Musician’s 2011 spring/summer collection inspired by Oscar Wilde’s “The Portrait of Dorian Gray”. Designed by Kuroda Yuuiti, the apparel pieces are long-cut and loose fitting. The line is extensive and includes a wide array of garments including a selection period pieces, look out for: Double coats, cropped pants, double cuffs and much more.
Last week was Austin Fashion Week, and there were some truly amazing garments and accessories featured all over town. Miu Miu 2011 Resort collection range is full of polka dots, apples, strawberries and hearts that make the garments they adorn look girlie and playful.
The Brazilian-born designer, Daniella Issa Helayal, the founder and director of Issa, has designed an uber-chic collection of garments for kids (ages 0-12) that includes ‘tea dresses, summer party frocks, trench coats, swimwear and shorts in cotton and voile for girls, and funky-print shorts for boys’.

Bringing together a group of four blonde models, the fall campaign from Miu Miu is all about girl power with the close knit group dressed in feminine frocks of blue, purple and yellow hues. Starring Lindsey Wixson, Siri Tollerod, Ginta Lapina and Daphne Groenveld, the advertisements shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott place emphasis on the playful appeal of the garments.
Uruguayan brand Ana Livni works with the concept of slow fashion: collections that don’t follow seasons, timeless clothes, local materials and slow manufacture.
For the 2010 southern cold season, they’ve revealed a set of new creations under the name ‘Entrevero’ at the latest edition of Buenos Aires Fashion week (their previous collection was in 2008). Even if it’s getting hotter in the north, take a look and get inspired for next winter.
